I keep meeting the coolest people in my photography work. Heather is a model and former professional ballet dancer, so I wanted to gear her photo shoot around her love of dance. Besides being pretty and talented, she is super nice, too.
We chose a beach location for our beautiful backdrop. For me, I always prefer to work with a magical or interesting landscape when shooting any model. It adds to the photograph’s overall effect.
For photography to be the best it can be, I consider the portrait session a collaboration, communicating back and forth with the subject to get what we both need. And we did, Heather and I got lot of shots together with which we were happy. This was a fun and productive trip, can’t wait to go back to Hilton Head!
Hilton Head Island is such an amazing place, full of beautiful people and sights. Lucky me, a trip took me there for play and a little work. I met and shot lovely Amanda one morning. She was wonderfully nice and, as I found out, a musician like myself.
Not only does she take a great portrait photo, but she told me all about the island and it’s ecosystem–everything from plant life to aquatic life. She was a good sport to spend time posing in the trees, and as she dodged a couple of bugs that even she didn’t recognize. 😉
After modeling for an hour she was still ready to work, and after one final clothing change we ended the session on the beach for some great swimsuit shots.
